Ever since the Corona period began, huge numbers of bodies have been received for cremation at Bhandup Smashanbhoomi, majority of which were infected with covid. The Smashanbhoomi had only one functional gas furnace that made people to stand in line for funerals. It was informed by trustees of Bhandup Smashanbhoomi that if another furnace is converted to gas furnace, the load on one will reduce, and public will not have to stand in lines.We got the work started instantaneously. Work was completed in March. It is a completely automated furnace which which doesn't require direct human contact. Due to rise in covid, crematorium is seeing high influx. जेव्हापासून कोरोना काळ सुरू झाला तेव्हापासून भांडुप स्मशानभूमीत गॅस दाहसंस्कारासाठी प्रचंड प्रमाणात मृतदेह प्राप्त झाले, त्यातील अनेक मृतदेह कोविड संक्रमित होते. स्मशानभूमीत फक्त एक कार्यात्मक गॅस भट्टी होती ज्यामुळे लोकांना अंतिम संस्कारांसाठी रांगेत उभे रहावे लागते. भांडुप स्मशान भूमीच्या विश्वस्तांनी अशी माहिती दिली की जर आणखी एक भट्टी गॅस भट्टीमध्ये रुपांतरित केली तर एकावरील भार कमी होईल आणि लोकांना लाइनमध्ये उभे रहावे लागणार नाही. याचे तातडीने बांधकाम सुरू झाले आणि मार्चमध्ये काम पूर्ण झाले. ही एक पूर्णपणे स्वयंचलित भट्टी आहे ज्यात थेट मानवी संपर्काची आवश्यकता नसते. कोविडमध्ये वाढ झाल्यामुळे जास्त वेळ थांबावे लागणार नाही. मनोज कोटक खासदार
