Helped unite young Valay with his parents.
Mr Rakesh Gandhi is an Indian citizen from Mumbai. His 14 year minor son is a US national by birth and currently studying in 9th Grade in Portugal. After the outbreak of #Corona, the Portuguese govt shutdown all schools and hostels asked students to vacate and return home. Valay was stuck as he did not fulfill the 4 criteria for becoming eligible for Indian visa. Mr. Rakesh Gandhi panicked and contacted me for help. I contacted Mr. Suresh Reddy, Addln Secretary (Europe) MEA, and Mr Sandip Arya, Jt. Secretary (Europe) MEA. On my request they talked to the Indian Ambassador in Portugal and as a very special case as the boy was a minor, the embassy has granted Valay the visa and he will be united with his parents in the next 24 hours.
Mr. Gandhi thanked me and the pragmatic and kind approach of the govt. under the leadership of Hon. PM Narendra Modi ji & special thanks to Raja Bhai from Mumbai & Tejas bhai from Portugal for their cooperation.
